The adapa Charity Run - Because that's our purpose!

SOS Children's Villages in Poland received € 18,362 for therapeutic and educational projects.

We at adapa accelerate change for a better world through protective packaging solutions. We are a frontrunner in sustainability, a technological first mover and a fast growing group. But from 4-12 September 2021, we didn’t have to be fast. With our Charity Run, we just wanted to move and get things moving. We wanted to connect with our 23 group companies across Europe, virtually creating a bond which reflects our corporate values.

Our employees are people of action with team spirit and dedication to their work. This is how we do “Our best for your goods”. We care about the future, our planet and about people. So we went running, cycling, boxing, walking and horseback riding, but not in order to be in front of the league table, but to support a good cause, accelerating change for a better world. Because that’s our purpose!

And in true adapa team spirit, we achieved a great result: 9,181 km, with each kilometre being rewarded with €1. Like in the previous year, our management board decided to double this amount, donating 18,362 euros to two projects of the SOS Children’s Villages in Poland, the charity organisation chosen by PS Polymer Sourcing, our procurement experts, who motivated every single one of their employees to take part in our event.

The first part of the funding has been allocated to the SOS specialist centre for children and adolescents with mental disorders in Kraśnik, a lighthouse project in southern Poland. It boasts state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to ensure comprehensive support, which is offered by renowned professionals and includes psychological, therapeutic and speech therapy services.

The second part of our donation has been assigned to the Family Strengthening Programme (FSP)  - “SOS for Family” in Zakrzówek. Its “galaxy of knowledge” aims to provide equal educational opportunities for school-age children from families at risk of social exclusion and to enhance their interest in science. In addition, it assists parents with their daily lives as part of its prevention scheme.

“The high quality of the services provided by the Specialist Centre and the Family Strengthening Programme is really impressive. I admire the decision by the SOS Children’s Villages to set up such an infrastructure as I know that it is not easy to obtain public funding for pilot projects. This is a great cause to support and I’m very happy to see that our donation can make a difference for many families and children,” says our CSO Marek Pawlak, who visited both projects in Poland.
